Research Manager (Food Technology)
Maria joined NutriLeads as a Research Manager (Food Technology) in January 2016. She is engaged in the identification and development of food ingredients with clinically demonstrated health effects for specific consumer groups. In addition she is overseeing the optimisation of sustainable production processes for NutriLeads’ health-promoting food ingredients.
A food scientist by training, her work has focused on fine tuning polysaccharide functionality in order to improve food stability and texture, while at the same time increasing their beneficial health impact. She boasts experience in several research projects, including her work for Top Institute Food & Nutrition (TIFN) as a postdoctoral researcher, where she investigated ways to structure low fat food products.
Maria obtained a PhD at the Aristotle University in Greece.
